Bible verses about divorce to comfort
Bible verses about Divorce to comfort.
The Divorce is sad and surprisingly common in our generation, pain, despair and abandonment of her (him) still hurts.
Many people who are divorced did not plan that this will happen or even never expected that one day their marriage will come. Despite the fact that God hates Divorce, it occurred in the time of Jesus and Moses, and in our day as well.
As believers, we must fall into the arms of Jesus Christ through the comfort of his word to face a divorce. Let these 7 verses from the Bible speak to your heart during these difficult times:
1) There is hope
“Why are you downcast, O my soul, and troubled within me? Wait on God; for I still have to praise him, my salvation and my God.” (Psalm 42: 5).
One of the first and most dominant emotions in fighting a divorce is utter hopelessness. You have made a covenant with God and your spouse in the midst of family and friends never to be separated, and yet here you are divorced.
Discouragement is Satan’s primary weapon against believers at this challenging time. However, there is hope and grace in Christ in these moments of terrible pain caused by a divorce. Wait on God to take care of you spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
… In Christ, all things are possible, and you can leave the Divorce in the past and go after the purpose of God for your life.
2) There is peace
“You will keep in complete peace the one whose thought in you perseveres; because he has trusted in you.” (Isaiah 26: 3).
Amid the chaos and calamity of a divorce, peace will often feel far away. However, trusting in the Lord and not how you think will bring peace in the midst of stormy days.
When you get up every day set your mind on the goodness of God, He will lead you through Him with His perfect peace. It is not a place of peace; it is an ongoing process of learning to trust in God’s faithfulness through the unknown areas of life.
3) There is joy
“For a moment, his anger will be, But his favour lasts a lifetime. In the night the weeping will last, And in the morning the joy will come.” (Psalm 30: 5).
It seems hard to believe that there can be joy through this devastating experience. However, the Lord knows how to make joy live in your heart during this time. His strength to give you joy in the midst of Divorce comes from the Holy Spirit. Although it is difficult to bear the experience and disappointment of a divorce, through Christ that sting of sadness will eventually lessen your pain and the joy will come to light.
4) There is consolation
“She is my comfort in my affliction Because your saying has quickened me.” (Psalm 119: 50).
In a divorce situation, loneliness can creep into your heart and mind. However, it is possible to be alone, but for those who seek their comfort in the Lord and not the empty promises of the world, loneliness will not have power. The Lord has made many promises to those who love him and keeps every last one. Find your obligations in the Bible and stick to the day and night to achieve the comfort you desire.
5) There is Provision
“My God, then, will supply all that you lack according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19).
For many people, Divorce can bring financial disaster, especially if you were not the breadwinner. You may suddenly find yourself having to make significant financial decisions in a short period of time. These are days of seeking God’s wisdom to guide you to the right people to help you make sense of your finances and find sustainable income. The Lord promises to supply all your needs and not only you but your entire family.
6) There is justice
“Well, we know the one who said: Vengeance is mine, I will give the payment, says the Lord. And again: The Lord will judge his people. It is a horrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God!” (Hebrews 10: 30-31).
There is no more significant pain for those who live the fruits of a root of adultery. It is difficult enough to understand the needs of your family and your own needs, But fighting also against treason can be overwhelming. However, if your intention is to seek revenge instead of trusting God and his justice, you will become a bitter and disappointed person. This is a time to cast your burdens on God in order to gain strength so that you can forgive adultery.
7) there is a future
“For I know the thoughts that I have about you, says Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you the end you hope for” (Jeremiah 29:11).
Divorce will feel like it’s the end of the world. In many ways, it is the end of a relationship and all that was promised. However, the Lord is above your Divorce and is able to make all grace abound and move you forward by faith. Your future is not limited or restricted to a divorce; It is good to know that through Christ, you have a calling and a purpose to fulfil despite this situation.
Facing in Christ
You may feel that you will never get out of this Divorce. However, in Christ, all things are possible, and you can leave behind and go after God’s purpose for your life. The Lord will never leave or forsake him in times of suffering. He will give you his presence when you seek him with all your heart, soul and mind. Go beyond merely facing a divorce and start living a victorious life in Christ Jesus.
A thousand blessings!
